THE INFLECTION LOOP™

Your team can diagnose a deal perfectly. And still not know what to do on the next call.

I spent almost a decade implementing the best-known methodologies in the world. They sharpened how teams analyse. Too often they fall short of changing what reps did once back at their desks.

Inflection Loop™ is my answer to what's missing. At its centre is one operating logic used by reps, managers and CS: Current → Ideal → Action.

Whiteboard from a live working session mapping current state to next actions
Live work · current → ideal → action
THE OPERATING LOGIC IN THREE BEATS
01
Current
What is actually happening?

Not the story in the CRM. What the customer said, who is part of the conversation, what was agreed.

02
Ideal
What does good look like here?

Name the standard before you judge the gap. Most teams skip this and argue about tactics instead.

03
Action
What happens in the next conversation?

One move, owned by one person, with a date. Anything else is analysis.

That's it. If a conversation can't answer all three, it wasn't a conversation. It was a status update.

Why I built it

The moment analysis quietly replaces action.

  1. 01The deal is scored, colour-coded and still not moving.
  2. 02Everyone agrees the economic buyer is missing. Nobody says how to reach them.
  3. 03The rep leaves the review knowing more and doing the same.
  4. 04Managers inspect fields instead of coaching behaviour.
  5. 05The methodology becomes a CRM chore by month three.

None of that is a framework failure. MEDDPICC found the gap. SPICED exposed the shallow pain. The framework did its job and then stopped, one step before the part that actually moves revenue.

A team mapping a buying process together
Four things I stopped pretending
  • Frameworks don't change behaviour

They change vocabulary. Behaviour changes when someone practises the hard moment out loud.

  • Diagnosis feels like progress

A perfectly qualified deal that nobody advances is still a lost deal with better paperwork.

  • Nobody needs another methodology rollout

Use MEDDPICC, a home-grown playbook or informal best practices. Inflection Loop™ gives the team one shared way to turn diagnosis into the next move.

  • Consistency beats sophistication

A rep, a manager and a CS lead using the same three questions beats four clever systems that never meet.

THE QUESTION WE START WITH

Does the customer already see a reason to change?

Yes
Guide the change.

Diagnose the full scope of the problem, explore the real options and build a case strong enough to survive the room the rep isn't in.

No
Diagnose without assuming the outcome.
  • The current setup is strong and ready for what comes next.
  • Growth will expose limits that aren't urgent yet.
  • There's a real problem the customer hasn't seen.
  • Confirm, prepare or challenge. Never all three at once.

Both routes run the same three beats. Current Ideal Action. If the identified or potential gap between Current and Ideal is not big enough, no Action is needed.

On a real deal

MEDDPICC found the gap. Here's what closes it.

Enterprise deal, strong champion, Economic Buyer flagged weak. The review says "get to the EB". That's a verdict, not a plan.

Current
One champion. A name in the Economic Buyer field with zero evidence of engagement. Decision process described as "they'll come back to us".
Ideal
The senior stakeholder is in a live conversation, the decision process is written down, and the next commitment has a date attached.
Action
Champion-led access ask on Thursday's call using the Access Protocol. Frame the business risk with Strategic Escalation. Close with 5RR so the next step is booked before the call ends.
Same logic, every seat

The subject changes. The questions don't.

Rep · customer call

What is happening for the customer now, what are they actually trying to reach, what needs to happen before we hang up.

Manager · deal review

What do we really know, what would make us confident, what does the rep do next. Coach the deal instead of taking it over.

CS · expansion

What value lands today, what the next useful outcome looks like, what we do together to get there.

When a rep, a manager and a CS lead ask the same three questions, the handover stops being a translation exercise.

Under the hood

Three beats on top. A full playbook underneath.

Current → Ideal → Action is the shared baseline. For every hard part of a customer conversation there's a specific play we practise until it survives contact with a real buyer.

90-day masterclass · three phases
  • Pain Train

Take the pain from symptom to business consequence without interrogating.

  • Strategic Escalation

Earn the right to a senior seat instead of asking for one.

  • Access Protocol

Get the champion to open the door willingly.

  • TEAM

Manager diagnostic: Target · Effort · Ability · Motivation. Coaching that ends in a behaviour, not a score.

  • ACT

Roleplays people don't hate, close enough to the real thing to transfer.

  • 5RR

Stick the landing on every call. No call ends without a next step.

Diagnose the person, then choose the coaching response.

Reps use Inflection Loop™ with customers. TEAM is the manager diagnostic inside it: what is actually preventing this rep from running the conversation well, and what kind of support changes it.

Straight answer

This isn't a replacement methodology.

If you want to replace MEDDPICC with a new set of fields, I am the wrong call. Inflection Loop™ works with the methodology you already use, a home-grown playbook or no formal system at all. It closes the gap between knowing what is wrong and knowing what to do next. If you want one day of training that leaves everyone inspired until Friday, I am also the wrong call. Behaviour takes at least 90 days.

Tell me what your team is running today and where it stops working. I'll show you the plays that fit and how the 90 days would look. No deck, no pitch.
